Description: | Pit Hein tells the story of Motirua, a woman from Mananitohere (a hill on Moor). She is the ancestor of many members of the Sawa'a clan. One day a man from Minumere (another hill on Moor) walks through a garden in Mananitohere and Motirua sees him kill a bird. She mentions this to her mother and her mother tells her to call him so he will take Motirua as his wife. During the night, he tries to have sex with her through her ear. Motirua's mother tells the man from Minumere how to have sex in the normal way, and also how women can give birth naturally instead of cutting the baby out of the mother with a sharp piece of bamboo. In those days, they were said not to know the normal way of having sex and giving birth (as in Yunus's story about Manukeke). At the end, Marice then re-tells the story in Papuan Malay.
Pit Hein is from the village of Kamurei-Matini on Moor.
