Description:This video recording was made at Dhambala. Richard Gandawuy (Leyagawumirr and a caretakers of the GanbaLtji area) explains the Yirritja and Dhuwa water meeting there (yothu-yindi). Garrujtu makes some comments and researcher Juliane asks questions. The lady with the green skirt is Nancy Gudaltji (Warramiri). She lives next to Richard and is our gätjiyamu. Nancy calls Garrutju and her female siblings (incl. Juliane) bäpa mukul.
Richard's mother is associated with Djingulul's genarational line. He is Leyagawumirr and the Golpa are the ngamu' clan (mother clan) for the Leyagawumirr. Barripang and all his siblings (incl. Juliane) call him gaykay and we are his gukulngu. He speaks some Golpa.
