| Description: | Arturo explains that when he was a kid, his family elders knew how to make traditional medicines with certain things like a deer skull or horns, or a pig skull. Renato continues by explaining some of the many different purposes of the medicine (tooth ache, high blood pressure,..). Renato continues with the different hunting techniques used by their parents or grandparents and nowadays. For example in the past snare traps (mensilo) were not used but they are the most common technique in present times. They both continue explaining the type snare trap that they use and how they use it. The conversation continues with the animals that they hunt, lezards, dears, wild pigs. The next topic the two men talk (min 22) about is which animals are their favorites to cook after a hunt. They also mention the story of Uncle Austin who was bitten by a wild pig and got seriously wounded. Min 28, kuya Renato explains that their biggest game ever was 5 wild pigs, 2 big ones and one small. That day he was with his family and they were also 5 persons. Finally they explain how long a hunt trip takes on average and where they sleep, if they have to stay in the mountain. | |
