Description:Aakó Qweetsó tells the story of the Gorwaa from the earliest recalled past to just before the arrival of the German colonials. The Gorwaa, Iraqw, Alagwa, and Burunge peoples began as one people living together at the Ya’eér Qantsaar settlement, until environmental degradation led to a political crisis and war with the Datooga people, which the settlers of Ya’eér Qantsaar lose. The Gorwaa, who occupy the lowlands after leaving Ya’eér Qantsaar, do not perform rites of atonement, and are continuously chased by the Datooga. The bereaved father Ganay delivers medicine to the Datooga, which brings them destruction in the form of the Maasai people. Due to Ganay disregarding the proper rites, the Maasai also come to attack the Gorwaa at Ayá Mango. || Links: Continued: 20151125j; 20151125k; Further Links: DSC_5354_20150705b; 20160202g; 20160302a; 20160302b; 20180531_CHc; 20180818_Cha; 20180818_CHb; 20180908_CHb; 20180910_Sta; 20181025_FMn || For any use of this single material, or of a small number of materials from the larger deposit, please include the following credit lines: 1.
