| Description: | This sessison with p063 went good. I have learned from previous experiences and I went inside a house to do the recording. That way the screen can be seen quite clearly. As always, I let the story-teller go through the pictures one time and ask all the questions that he wants so that I can explain what the task is better. I have found that the concept of telling a consecutive picture book as a story remains a difficult task to comprehend and interlocuters, especially without schooling background, do often not view the pictures as telling a story. After the first round of explanation and presentation of the task I think he did a nice job describing the pictures. At one point the local school teacher passed by our recording place, because his possessions were in the room to our left (i.e. where I slept, since they had displaced the teacher for the two weeks of our stay to make room for me). One can hear the creaking of his steps and see him in the video. I went up to him and asked him to step a little lighter around the mic, which he did. | |
