Title:SD1-271
Bibliographic Citation:Danerek, H. Stefan, Danerek, H. Stefan, Danerek, H. Stefan, Veronika Punga; 2015-06-18; Genre: Medicine/huru: Veronika Punga (neighbour) recorded in Wongga and Luthe's (and Om Paulus Pidhu's and Lebi's, and my, SD, Cawa Lunda's home too when visiting Palu'e) home in the evening 18 June -15 in kampong Nara. The recording was done directly with the H4N because I knew had to ask questions and that the several persons present would want to add something to the other's narrations. Finally I got to record the local practitioners; Paulus Pidhu, Veronika Punga, Meli Pisane, Sami Vendelinus (present after a while). Lebi and Wongga, and Pidhu (Ebbe, Wongga Luthe's son) listening. Punga told two 'huru' that both use sirih pinang. Neither come from prohibitions that inflict disease, hence 'huru' is both the symptom and cure. This one is called 'huru laja sube' or 'huru mi'i meje' because of what it does (peeing hurts, difficult to pee). Another symptom is severe diarrhea, with bleeding. The cure uses 'mabe' root and 'ci'i' (long grass) shoots (tops), 'buki sowa' (small soil insect) and a 'hule kera' young top leaf, shoot ('ngalu ngurane'). The material is chewed with sirih pinang and lime. Placed on the belly below the navel, I assume.Like with her other 'huru', no 'bhulu wao' adat prayer, 'Peju' payment with small money.; digital wav file recorded at 48 khz/24 bit, eaf file; Kaipuleohone University of Hawai'i Digital Language Archive;http://hdl.handle.net/10125/47845.
