Knowing this, and that I want to record 'huru' and like to see at practiced, my assistent Methi Puine had searched and found a 'dheku heko' the day before, and she called on me. I came in the morning at around eight o'clock and saw the whole process of preparing the materials (photos): crushed 'dheku heko' (with pestle and mortar), 'moro' plant and chewed areca nut and piper betel. (Hase from Sali insists upon using a kind of forest egg plant; 'dhou'. Marselina Meti, Hoka, does not use the 'dheku heko'!) Teresia Nona neither it seems, but she uses 'dhou' and 'beri''). The materials are mixed in a coconut shell and then applied to the backside of the ear, and its surroundings. Sia has circled the ear five times with the snail before she crushed it. The mixture is applied with the fingers. This can be repeated several times, usually at least twice the same day, morning and late aternoon/evening. This will make the ear dry. I only had the mixture applied to my ear once. I left it there during the whole day. The next day I felt relieved, but the problem returned later. I should have continued the treatment.
