Bibliographic Citation:Ratu, Hilarius, Danerek, H. Stefan, Danerek, H. Stefan, Danerek, H. Stefan, Wera, Wilhelmus (Wera Ngangene); 2014-12-02; Wéra Ngange (b. 1943), kampong Hoka, Ndeo, is a vivid storyteller. In the past, when Ratu (HR) was still a child he remembered how Wéra used to tell the kids fantastic and funny tales during evenings when the moon was big and shining brightly. His stories are good fun and fantastic, lots of events and unsuspected turns. Both in this one, " Monkey and Shark", and in the other, Sinyo Welen. In "Shark and Monkey", the shark community and the monkey community are enemies, friends again, and then enemies again. Recorded with the H4N Zoom 2 Dec -14 by SD and HR before noon in Wilhelmus Wéra's house sitting on the balai-balai ('woga'), the three of us, and Ware and two neighbours. It was a relaxed session. We also had lunch there, and a shot of arak, prepared by Wéra's wife. Listen also to the fantastic tale Sinyo Welen. / SD; digital wav file recorded at 48 khz/16 bit, eaf fileit; Kaipuleohone University of Hawai'i Digital Language Archive;http://hdl.handle.net/10125/38914.
