Description:Translation (Htoi San) A long time ago, a stingy rich man was there in a village. He was so miserly, and he did not go out. He was worried that other people would ask him, so he did not go anywhere. He did not talk to anyone, and he stayed alone. One day, two men, who were wicked to people well, heard about the miser's penny-pinching, and they were thinking of torturing him. One night, those men stood in front of the miser's house and said, "Let's think about it; how can we enter this house." Then they shouted, "Help us! Please save us. Some baddies are catching us." The rich man heard their shouting. "Mr. Rich Man, we will come into your house," requested the two men, and the rich man replied, "Come in. Come in. Who is chasing you?" "Those crooks are chasing us," the two men answered and entered the rich man's house. The rich man opened the door for them. Then the rich man said to them, "I have a dog. Aren't you afraid of it?" They responded, "No, we don't." A big picture of a dog was placed at the top of the staircases when they set foot in the house. The miser did not rear a dog because he did not want to feed it, and he was so stingy. The two men said, "Boss, your dog looks like biting us at the door." "No, it is not. It is not biting." "It is just a picture," the miser immediately responded. After they had come in, they asked, "My Boss, we are so tired, and could you please give us some food?" The rich man said, "Okay, can." Then he prepared the food for them. Before that, he was so ungenerous to other people. Those two men praised the miser and twisted him. "You are so smart. My Boss, you are so handsome," complimented him. He wanted to feed them as they were flattering him. "My wealthy man, you are so mature and clever," they praised him as he was feeding them. "After eating rice, I will also serve the fruits." "As you are complimenting me so much," the rich man was pleased. Hereafter, he cut jackfruit and let them eat. They ate it all, but they still wanted to eat more. So they asked the rich man, "My rich man, may I know how you cut this fruit?" The miser showed and said, "Like this." Then they ate it all again and said, "Pick one more." The miser did not want to give them more as he was so mean; therefore, he picked one more fruit and showed it to the two men, "You can pick it like this and eat like that." Those two men were full, and they just praised the miser for getting what they wanted. Transcription (Lu Awng) Moi kalang mi hta da ndai grai maji ai sahte wa langai nga ai da.
