Description:Translation (Htoi Awng) Once upon a time, there was a dreamer in a village. He made the bamboo baskets for his living. He thought, "Making bamboo baskets is not easy at all. I need to collect some bamboos, cut them and need to make thin bamboo strips. It's such difficult work. I think it would be okay if I make baskets by using roots and vines. It is much easier than making bamboo baskets." One day, he climbed on a tree. He was sitting on the branch and thought, "Should I work today or chill without working? But I will not get any money if I don't work. I will make some baskets by using the vines from this tree. I can usually make two baskets in a day. There are plenty of vines. I do not need to cut them like bamboos. Then, I can get more baskets than usual. I would get a lot of money too." While he was thinking, a bird rested right on his head. The bird said, "My friend! What are you thinking about? Are you very free? Why are you sitting here?" The man said, "Don't judge me! I am so busy dreaming how I should do." The bird said, "What can you get just by thinking like that?" He said, "Wait and watch!" The bird said, "You better do your daily job." The man said, "Don't disturb me. I am thinking how I should do. This is more important." The bird said, "You should know if dreaming can really benefit you or not." The man said, "Shut up! Don't talk to me! I am busy now." He kept thinking on and on, "There are plenty of vines on this tree. I just need to pick them and make the baskets. I can do two or three baskets than usual. I can make more money. I needed to work under the sun to make bamboo baskets. Now, I can work under the shade. I will get more money and am going to be rich. I can revenge people who look down on me and that stupid bird." While he was dreaming happily, the bird came near him again. It said, "Hey, my friend! How are you?" The man was angry and kicked it hard. But he forgot the fact that he was sitting on the tree. When he kicked it, he fell from the tree. He was stuck on a branch. He was shouting for help. Then, the villagers heard him and saved him. They asked him, "What happened?" He explained, "I was thinking of a particular idea by sitting on the tree. While I was thinking, the bird often came and talked to me. So, I tried to kick it. Then, I fell from the tree." The villagers said to him, "You are overthinking without doing practically. That is why you are in trouble. You almost lost your life. If we didn't come to save you, you couldn't make any baskets too. But now, you are alive although you couldn't earn any money for today. You should abandon your bad habit start from now on. And you should make practically." Since then, he didn't make that bad habit again. He made the bamboo baskets the way he did before.
