Description:Translation (Htoi Awng) Once upon a time, there were two friends in a village. They were close friends. After a few years, both of them got married. Since they didn't know to do good jobs, they were getting poor and poor. They worked on daily wages. After they got married, they couldn't contact each other. One man had a clever, patient woman while the other man married to a short-tempered girl. The man who had a patient wife and his wife were discussing, " What shall we do to get rich?" They thought so hard. After thinking for a while, the husband came up with an idea. He told her, "The ships of the traders are usually sailed in that river. Sometimes, they got destroyed by natural disasters. So, there would be many treasures in that river. If we can find them, we will be rich." They planned to take out all the water from there to get the treasures. They started preparing the equipment they would need. He told his wife, "Let's cook our meals early in the morning. After that, we will go to that river." His wife was a good housewife. She listened to him. She woke up early and cooked the meals for them. They packed meals and took all the equipment. Then, they went to the river. When they arrived there, they started bailing out water with buckets. When they felt tired, they stopped for a while and had lunch. After that, they continued their work until it got dark. They were repeating like that for four or five days straight. Fish from that river heard how the woman and her husband would do to succeed. They worried about that and discussed, "We will be in trouble if they keep bailing the water out. We have to ask someone to give us the advice." They went to the dragon that lived in the big river and told him, "Please, give us some advice. There are a woman and her husband who always come here and bail the water out. Water level is already decreasing much because of them. What should we do?" The dragon suggested them, "Give some gold and other treasures to them. And you beg them not to continue doing it." Then, the fish took lots of gold and went to the woman and her husband. They said, "We will give you these treasures. Stop bailing out the water, and let us be free." The woman and her husband accepted the treasures. They said, "Okay. We won't take out the water anymore." And then, they went back home. They became rich and could live in a good mansion. On the other hand, the man who had a short-tempered wife missed his friend. So, he and his wife went to his friend. When they arrived there, they were surprised to see his friend's good house. The house had totally changed. He asked his friend, "How did you get rich?" The good friend told him everything. Then, he decided to do the same as his friend. He and his wife returned home and discussed to do it. He told his mad wife, "Wake up early tomorrow morning and cook some meals for us. When it is getting light, we will go there and bail the water out." The next morning, she woke up early and prepared to cook. When she rinsed the rice, she spilled some rice. She made the rice oversoft. In the end, half of the rice had gone. They didn't have enough cooked rice for lunch. It was already afternoon when they left their house. They even forgot to bring the buckets. They had to return home to take the buckets. The mad wife often blamed her husband while they were taking out the water. They worried if the man and his wife was united. But, they were happy because the couple argued all the time. In the end, the wife told her husband, "I can't really do this time! Just do by yourself. I'll just go back." She left him and went back home. Then, he said, "If you leave, I can't do as well. I will go home too." The fish were very happy because the couple's plan to take the water out failed. The first man and his clever wife got rich because they worked hard and were very patient. In fact, there was no way that they could take all the water out from the river. Since they were united, they could get many treasures.
