Description:Translation (Htoi San) Once upon a time, there was a widow and her child. The mother was very old and could not work correctly, so she asked her child to work. Her son worked very hard. He worked in an irrigated paddy field and on highland cultivation. The neighbors talked to him, "Your mother doesn't work anything and asks you to work. She is just angry at you." The son thought about what they were saying, "Yeah, that's right. Although I do work for the whole house, mom also nags me. She doesn't do anything and only blames me. I am the one who works all things." Mother came and brought lunch for him while he was thinking that way. As soon as the mother reached her son with the lunch box, her son kicked it away. On that morning, the mother thought, "What has my son done wrong and wants to get angry?" and went back quietly. Her son did the same thing when she sent the lunch box the following day. Her son kicked them away whenever the mother sent the lunch box and food pot; therefore, the mother was scared of him. "Oh my! My son is getting older, and he wants to hit me. What is all about him even though he is so mature?" the mother thought, and she ran away with fear when her son kicked them out on the third morning. The mother fled from her son. The son worked in the paddy field, but his mother did not send food to him. When the son finished his work that day and sat on a big tree beside the farmhouse, he saw a hawk attack a mother bird and its chick in front of him. The mother bird struck back again and again to protect its baby. When he saw this scene, he thought, "Oh my, my mother also might protect me like this. Even birds defend their babies from predators, and mothers are scared of their babies dying." "My mother is also like this." The son repented, "If my mom comes back to me again, I will hug her and accept her nicely. I will ask for her forgiveness too." The next day, his mother came back. The mother returned to her son, thinking, "Is my son's mind settled down or not?" When the son saw his mother come back, he ran to hug her. However, the mother thought, "My son ran to me to kick me," and the mother ran back. She hit a big rock and fell down when she reversed and reached a bit farther. Due to her falling, she passed away. When the son saw his mother fall, "Oh dear, my mom is falling over there," he ran there and found his mother dead. The son regretted, "Mother, I feel sorry. I wanted to apologize to you, but now you are dead." From that day onwards, he repented and lived his life well. Transcription (La Ring) Moi shawng de da gaida hkan nu nga ai da.
