Description:Translation (Htoi San) A long time ago, there was a great hunter. That professional hunter's name was Nhkum Tu Yau. At the time of Nhkum Tu Yau, the weapons were not implemented. Therefore, hunters used knives and spears to thrust for their hunting at that time. One day, he went hunting to get meat. He hunted for the whole day until sunset. He could thrust a wild boar and sprawled it when it was almost totally sunset. Then he cut and brought one side of the wild boar's ear and went home. As the light was getting dark, he could not cut it into pieces and brought the wild boar alone. In his village, there was a nat-priest who practiced divination. That nat-priest had a thing called 'Machyu Lung Sha,' which means a reliable item. When the villagers fell sick, or anything happened, he used that 'Machyu Lung Sha' to see whether it was right or not, then he cured the sick people or divined. The great hunter Nhkum Tu Yau wanted to test whether the spirit priest's Machyu Lung Sha was true, so he cut a piece of the wild boar's ear. "I shot a wild boar yesterday. Can you see whether I can eat that meat or not?" asked the hunter. Then the divine spirit priest said, "Alright." Then he said, "Nhkum Tu Yau is in sorrow; the wild boar revives." The nat-priest answered. He told him that he could not eat that meat. "How come I cannot eat! How can't I eat?" The hunter took out and showed a piece of the wild boar's ear. The divine spirit priest was so shameful and thought, "My reliable thing is not true anymore." Then he cut it into pieces and threw it. So the Machyu Lung Sha was spread into pieces. Those pieces were stuck on divining leaves and bamboo leaves. After that, Nhkum Tu Yau went to the forest with the confidence that he could eat the meat, but there was no wild boar meat. He felt ashamed when he found out that the wild boar he killed was not there. He even invited his friends there, but the meat was not found, so he was angry and traced the footsteps of the wild boar. The truth was the leaves he used to cover the wild boar were the medicine leaves. The leaves which he chose were the medicine leaves that could heal and join the wound and injury. The wild boar was covered by those leaves, and it could walk around. Thus the hunter hunted it until he reached the Sun Land. When he got to the Sun Land, he met with the Sun children and asked, "Is my wild boar here?" The people from the Sun Land replied, "Ahh, you are the one who injured our wild boar." Then the Sun people kept the hunter in their land. The hunter was there for some time, and it was time to go home. "Even though you asked to give the wild boar, we could not give it back. Therefore we give you a girl," said the Sun people. Although they said, "We give you a girl," they also gave him a gilt piglet. "Take this pig and rear it nicely. When your bride-giving clan arrives and meets you, cook this for the relatives deliciously," asked the Sun people. "You have an experience of touching the medicine leaves." "So from today onwards, you may have healer hands for whoever sprain or dislocate their joints can feel better when you rub gently to cure. Your hands touched the leaves that can raise the dead." The people from Sun Land marked him with this ability. After that, the Sun people released him and the girl into the world with the piglet. The hunter and the girl lived in the hunter's village. A sparrow, a tiger, and a frog asked each other, "What are you eating that you are fat and good-looking staying there?" One answered, "I eat boar meat, and I suck boar oil so that I am fat." The sparrow from a tree heard this and sent this message to the Sun people who gave this gilt piglet and said, "Today, they killed and ate your pig." The Sun people were angry and took back their girl. They asked the girl, "Why did you kill the pig and eat it?" The girl answered, "We have not done predation yet." "We will kill it only when my parents arrive. Now the pig is still with us," explained the girl. "If so, you can go back." The Sun people let the girl return home. From that time onwards, the hunter and the girl got married well. When the bride-giving clan people arrived, they killed the pig and fed the girl's relatives. From this Nhkum Tu Yau, the Nhkum clan has been blessed with curing people because of Nhkum Tu Yaw, who had touched the medicine leaves called 'Tsi Hkrung Tsi' leaves. The couple gave a blessing gift to the Sun people. From that time onwards, people marked the Nhkum clan as they had become medicine people who could cure with their massage.
