Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The story I am going to tell is about a ghoul and goat brothers. Once upon a time, there were two river banks. A bridge connected those two river banks. Under the bridge, there was a ghoul. It caught everyone who walked over the bridge and ate them. One day, goats really wanted to go to the other side of the river. There was plenty of green grass on the bank. But they were afraid of the ghoul. The youngest goat wanted to eat that grass so much and told his brothers, "I can see those delicious green grass and am dying to eat that. If you two are scared to go there, I will go there alone." So, he ran over the bridge. The ghoul heard his footsteps and asked, "Who is that?" The goat said, "I am the youngest goat among my siblings." The ghoul said, "I will eat you then," and tried to catch him. The goat begged the ghoul, "Don't eat me, please. My two brothers are behind me. Eat them." The ghoul hesitated, "If I eat him, I will not be full. If I eat his two brothers, I will be full. They will be delicious." Then, it let the youngest goat go. The youngest goat was free and eating the grass happily. The second brother goat saw his younger brother was eating the grass, so he wanted to go there too. He told his elder brother, "My brother, I want to go there too. I want to eat the grass." And he ran over the bridge. When the ghoul heard his footsteps, it asked, "You are the elder brother of that goat I let go, aren't you?" The goat said, "Yes, I am." The ghoul said, "I am going to eat you." The second goat begged it, "Please, don't eat me. My elder brother is bigger than me. He will walk across the bridge soon. Eat him." The ghoul hesitated again and thought, "He is not big enough for me. I will eat his elder brother." Then, it told him, "Okay, I will let you go." Both the second goat and the youngest goat were free and eating the grass. The eldest goat saw both of his brothers eating the grass happily. He wanted to go there too. He decided, "I will go there no matter what. I should be wise enough to go across that bridge." When he was in the middle of the bridge, the ghoul heard him and said, "I will eat you." The eldest goat said, "If you dare!" And he was ready to fight. When the ghoul was trying to eat him, he attacked it with his horns. The ghoul fell into the river and died. It never came out of the water again. The three goats were happily eating the grass. When it was dark, they went back home. Since that day, they could freely go over the bridge.
