Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) This is about Marip clan can't eat fermented bamboo shoots. A long time ago, there was a chief in Marip clan. But that chief was narrow-minded and mean. He ordered the villagers to make fermented bamboo shoots every winter. They put those fermented bamboo shoots in the big pits and buried them under the ground. One day, they dug a big hole and put a pit there. The chief ordered them to put fermented bamboo shoots there. No matter how many they put there, the pit was not full yet. The villagers got angry and pushed the chief down there. And then, they covered him with bamboo shoots and closed the lid tight. Since then, people who belong to Marip clan don't eat fermented bamboo shoots because their chief was dead there. Transcription (La Ring) Marip ni mahkri nmai sha ai lam.
