Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The story is about two orphan brothers. Once upon a time, there were two orphan brothers in a village. They were so poor that they had only one blanket. They had a farm too. The elder brother was stupid. He used the blanket during the daytime while his younger brother used it at night. He couldn't do farming well too. The vegetables grew very well at the side of the farm where the younger brother worked. But the elder brother's vegetables were not growing well. The elder brother told his younger brother, "Let's change the side of the farm the next day." The younger brother agreed to change it. But the result was the same. Then, the younger brother said, "My elder brother, how come your vegetables do not grow well?" The elder brother said, "I wonder why. I think I should ask the fortune teller about it." Then, the younger brother said, "Yeah, you should." On his way, he met a tiger and asked it, "Where are you going, the tiger?" The tiger said, "It's good for me that I met you as I am hungry. I can eat you." He begged it, "Don't eat me, please. I am on my way to ask a fortune teller why my plants and crops are not growing well on my farm." The tiger said, "Oh, then ask for me too. I have been waiting here for a year to get prey. Can you please ask me what kind of food I will get to eat?" He promised to ask about it for the tiger and continued his way to the fortune teller. He saw a river which was getting dry. The river asked him, "Where are you going?" He replied, "I am on my way to the fortune teller." The river said, "Then, can you please ask him why my water level is low?" He continued his way and met a widower and his granddaughter. The widower asked him, "Where are you heading to?" He replied politely, "I am going to the fortune teller." The widower asked him, "We can't have good fruits from our farm. Can you please ask him why?" In the end, he met the fortune teller. The fortune teller asked him, "Why are you here?" He said, "My vegetables are not growing well, so I came to you to ask you why it happened. And the tiger told me to ask you that it was waiting for prey the whole year and what it should eat." And he continued, "The river told me to ask you why its water level was getting lower. And a widower and his granddaughter told me to ask you why their vegetables and crops were not growing well." Then, the fortune teller told him, "There was a gold pot at the widower's farm. Tell them to dig it out. They will be rich. And there is a big rock blocking the way at the up-river area. Move it, then the water will flow. Tell the tiger that it should eat the most stupid man in the world." He said, "Okay, I will tell them." And he retraced his steps. When he met the widower, he told him, "There is a gold pot at your farm. Let's find it." They really found a gold pot somewhere on the farm. The widower was so happy and told him, "Stay here and marry my granddaughter. You can live happily here." He said, "I can't. I have to pass the words to the other people, too." And he retraced his steps. When he arrived at the river, he told it, "There is a big rock blocking your way at the up-river area. When it is removed, the water will flow." The water said, "Drink some water. Take a rest here for tonight." He said, "No, I can't. I have to meet with the tiger. I need to tell it something." When he met the tiger, he told it, "You should eat the most stupid man in the world." Then, the tiger asked him what had happened to him. He told it that the widower and his granddaughter asked him to stay with them, but he didn't want to stay there. And he told it that the river asked me to take a rest there, but he didn't want to rest there. Then, the tiger understood everything he said and said to him, "You are the most stupid person in this world!" And it ate him. This is the end of the story.
