Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The story I'm going to tell is about a horse and a child. There is a saying in Kachin that is 'mistakenly giving our children to the horse'. Many years ago, there was one family in a village. There were many sons in that family, but there was only one girl. There was only one daughter in that family. The parents indulged their daughter so much since she was the only girl among the siblings. They didn't let her do anything and let her stay at home all the time without teaching anything. There was a big stallion in that house too. She had got to see that horse every day. And she saw that horse's genitals every day. Then, she had all grown-up and became an adult. One day, she had sexual intercourse with a horse. Since her parents didn't let her do anything, indulged her and didn't teach what was right or what was wrong, she couldn't be able to differentiate between right and wrong, or good and bad. Even the parents ordered her to do something, she didn't want to do it. Her parents were afraid that she might run away from home, so they didn't order her to do anything. Then, she became a spoilt girl and had sexual intercourse with the horse without being known by her parents. She stayed together with an animal even though she was a human being. When they had sexual intercourse, the horse didn't put all parts of his genital into her since it was afraid that she might die. So it put half of its genital on a bar of a fowl. Then one day, the youngest boy in their family didn't know about that and tried to cut that bar from the bottom. So it was about to break. At that time, the horse could understand human language too. Then it had a lust for her. It put half of its genital on the bar of a fowl while they were having intercourse. That bar suddenly broke down, and all of the horse's genital went into the girl's. Unfortunately, the girl died because of that accident. When her parents heard the news and came back, they saw that their only daughter was dead. So we should teach our children whatever as we have parent's responsibilities. There is a saying too, 'If we don't learn or teach, we won't know anything.' Parents must teach their children to be able to differentiate what is good or bad. We must teach and order them to do things even though he or she is the only child. We can't indulge our children so much. We must tell our children that 'if you are with this one, you can become like this or like that' since many perverts and many men try to violate bad things on girls today. So we must tell our daughters to be afraid of not only older men but also young men, and even animals too. We teach our children to live their lives as a truthful, reliable and loyal person. Although we have only one child or many children, they are the most valuable for parents. In this story, the horse made their only daughter dead. It's because those parents indulged their daughter and didn't teach her at all. So this story wants to tell us that we need to teach our children to be able to differentiate what is right and wrong.
