Description:Translation (Htoi San) I am telling a story about a dragon and a human being. A long time ago, human beings, dragons, and thunder could communicate with each other. Moreover, the thunder loved human beings so much. On the other hand, the dragon wanted to eat and take the living people. However, the dragon could not eat and take in every way. The dragon did not have power yet, so he could not get the human beings. Even though the dragon strongly desired to eat humans, he could not get them. The dragon saw the humans going to bathe beside the river in the jungle. He could get as many other animals as possible but could not obtain human beings. Therefore he went up to the thunder and got the 'Dan Lung' from him. 'Dan Lung' was in the sky even though it was not a cloudy day. On a sunny day, there was a loud sound in the sky even though there was no airplane. During that loud voice, 'Dan Lung' was in the sky. The sound could be heard the whole day for three or four days. The dragon went up to the thunder and asked for 'Dan Lung' from him. He got into the space to take 'Dan Lung' and the thunder warned him. "You don't even touch those human beings. I love them so much." "Therefore, you don't take the people. You can't eat them," told the thunder. "I won't take those humans. I won't eat them. I won't! I won't!" promised the dragon. Even the dragon said, "I won't take them," the thunder confirmed, "I am worried you might take them." "If one day made a sound, I won't give it to you." "Dan Lung is a tool that can kill people so I won't give it to you." "I was fond of people so much." "Therefore, I could not give you the people's lives." "So, if you get this 'Dan Lung,' you can take people," explained the thunder. The dragon responded, "If you give me the Dan Lung, you can strike me if I take people." The thunder did not want to give it to the dragon. "I don't want to give it. I don't want to pass it to you," said the thunder. The thunder continued, "If so, you just have to keep your promise." "On the day you kill people, I will hit you with lightning." "The day you take the people, I will strike with my lightning and drag you," firmly said the thunder. The dragon promised, "I won't take. I won't kill people." The dragon gave promises again and again, "I won't kill. If I take people, you can kill me that day and take back Dan Lung." At last, the thunder gave Dan Lung to the dragon with his promises. After the dragon took Dan Lung, he stayed in the water. He also stayed on the higher ground, on the big mountain, and in the deep forest. This dragon was an evil spirit. The dragon lived in a place where people did not step on it. When he lived in the water, he inhabited a deep lake. He could turn the ship when people traveled by boat in the water. When people came for bathing, he could catch them. People missed while they were taking a bath in the river. It could be because the dragon took them. The dragon took Dan Lung from the thunder, and magnetized people, then ate them. The dragon took the people with Dan Lung so that the people from the nat worshiping time said, "The thunder! I will give you milk. My child was taken." "The dragon took my child. Therefore, please strike the dragon." When the thunder heard about this, he hit the dragon. The thunder straight away struck the dragon, even how big it was, and placed it on a hill. Then the thunder hit the dragon's head because the dragon put Dan Lung on his head. After that, the thunder took out Dan Lung from his head. As a result, human beings and dragons were big enemies. The thunder called the dragon whenever the people drowned and died in the water as the dragon did not keep his promise. Whenever the thunder called the dragon, he stuck him all the time. We heard this kind of story. Transcription (La Ring) Ya ngai tsun na maumwi gaw baren hte shinggyim masha a lam rai nga ai. Moi shawng de shinggyim masha ni hpe baren ni gaw mu ni gaw ga hkrum ai.
