Description:Translation (Seng Pan) This story is about a dog and a pig. A long time ago, there lived a dog and a pig in a house. They loved each other so much. At that time, the pig and dog could communicate although they were animals. When they didn't have work to do, they spent their time cuddling. One day, their master assigned a task to them. Their master ordered, "Today, both of you go and plough my field." In the field, the pig worked hard the whole day. So, the pig said, "My friend, dog. Please come and help me! I am quite tired now. If we work together, we can finish it quickly. Without your help, I have been working the whole day, and my snout is in great pain." "Ok. Ok. I'll start working at sunset. Don't worry! I'll finish it," the dog replied and slept under a shade all day. Starting from the dawn, the poor pig ploughed the field non-stop. Since the human who had been feeding him assigned the work, he tried his best. The pig ploughed the field with his snout all day. However, the dog kept sleeping and didn't get up even though the pig woke him up several times. "Get up! Let's finish this work together. It's getting dark now," the pig said. "Ok. Ok. I'll get up and do it. Just keep working!" the dog replied. Although how many times the pig asked his friend, the dog, to plough together, the dog didn't listen to him. On the other hand, the pig worried that the master would not feed them and give them the place to sleep if they didn't finish the task. So, he decided to conclude the work by himself anyhow. The pig also ploughed, including the part that the dog should do. "It's getting dark. And you are still sleeping. We haven't finished our work yet," the pig said again. "Keep doing it. I'll come and join you. It'll be done in a short time," the dog replied. The pig didn't want to ask the dog anymore and gave up on him. At sunset, he was exhausted and hungry. He even felt like fainting. But soon, the pig could finish all the tasks the master assigned. Although the dog didn't help him, he couldn't get angry at him and said, "My friend, dog. Let's go back home. It's dark now." The dog replied, "Ok. You go back first. I have a work to be done." After that, the dog walked on where the pig ploughed with his snout. He erased all the pig's footprints. They were replaced with the dog's footprints. Then, he returned home. When he arrived, he said, "Master. I worked hard the whole day, although I was starving. Even though I asked the pig many times to help me, he didn't listen to me and slept all day. I've worked all day long, and there are only my footprints left. There aren't any pig's footprints. Therefore, master, if you don't trust me, you can go and check." The master also went and checked in the field. And he only found the dog's footprints. So, the pig was put in the sty. However, the dog who toadied his master could live freely on the veranda, and the food was also always ready for him. Transcription (Lu Awng) Ya gaw gwi hte wa na lam re.
