Description:Transcription (Rita) The story I am going to tell is about an orphan boy called La Ring. He was a motherless and fatherless child. He had to work at other people's farms. During the daytime, he ploughed other people's farms. At night, he worked for his farm. He was a hardworking man. It was a hard time for him. While he was working for other people's farms in the daytime, he made a flambeau in his break time. And he put it on the tree. He used it when he worked at night. He really worked hard like that. The Mighty GOD knew that La Ring was a hardworking man, and time was hard for him. At that time, people didn't know much about GOD. They didn't worship him. One day, a stranger asked him, "An orphan boy La Ring, do you breed a seven-year-old pig?" He said, "Yes, I do." The stranger asked him again, "Do you breed a seven-year-old cock too?" He said, "Yes." He just assumed that the stranger asked him in a good way. He received the questions as good luck. When he got back home at night, he told his wife, "My wife, a stranger asked me if I bred a seven-year-old pig today. But I told him that I had a pig, even though I don't actually have any. He also asked me if I had a seven-year-old cock. I said I had. Then, he asked me if I had a seven-year-old pig and cock. He said if I had, kill them and treat our neighbours." Then, his wife said, "Okay then. Let's buy a pig and a chicken! And let's treat our neighbours." His wife wasn't angry and accepted what he said. They cooked a delicious meal and treated their neighbours. That night, they slept soundly. (Oh, I forgot to say one fact.) Actually, the stranger told La Ring, "Treat your neighbours a tasty meal. After treating that, you and your wife go to bed without fighting or quarrelling." La Ring followed the stranger's words. Then, he and his wife went to bed that night. The next morning when they woke up, they saw that there was much gold in their house. There were many buffalos and cows tying at the trees in their compound. They became rich since that day. Our elders used to say this story. There was another family in that village. The husband in that family said to his wife, "La Ring becomes rich. We should do the same as them. Let's treat our neighbours too!" He asked his wife's thoughts. He asked, "Do you breed a seven-year-old pig?" His wife replied, "What! There is no seven-year-old pig! We don't have any!" He said to his wife, "Don't say like that, my darling." And he asked, "Then, do we have a seven-year-old chicken?" She said, "How could we have that kind of chicken?" She was angry and cursing. But, she cooked a meal. And they treated their neighbours the meal. GOD knew that the wife was saying bad words and narrow-minded. She was a bad person. That night, the couple just slept. The next morning, they saw that there were many dirty rubbish and coffins around their house. So, wives shouldn't react like that. Wives and husbands need to be harmonious and united. They were a disunited family. Our elders used to say that. This is the end of the story.
