Description:Translation (Htoi Awng) Thanks so much! The story I am going to tell is about a father who let his son work at rich family because he really wanted his son to be smart. The man who let his son work at another house was the rich man too. He knew that the children who were from the rich family were very lazy. He thought, "My son doesn't know how to do works. When I am alive, he could spend his life peacefully. But I am worried that my son won't know the value of money. He might get into trouble when I pass away." Then he let his son work at his closest friend's house. The boy didn't do any work there since he came from a rich family. And his father's friend didn't order him to work since the boy was not sent here because he was poor. The boss treated the boy well. When it was time to go back home, he gave a coin of gold to the boy as wage since he didn't want to lose his face to the boy's father. But the father knew that his son didn't work well as soon as he met him. Then, the father took the boy to the deep well. And he said to his son, "Okay, now give me your coin of gold which you got from there." Then the father threw the gold into the well. But the boy didn't care about it and didn't give any attention because he was still rich. His father sent him back to his friend's house and let him work again. This time, the father secretly requested his friend (the boss of the rich house) to order his son to work. And he said to his friend, "I trust you. That's why I let my son work here." Then, they set the return date for the boy. This time, the boss really gave the boy much works to do. He let the boy do the works which the boy had never done before. On the day the boy had to go back home, the boss gave a coin of gold to him as wage. The boy's father knew that the boy worked a lot and got that gold. But he wanted to test whether his son valued the gold or not. He took his son to the deep well again. And he asked his son to give the gold coin to him. Then he tried to throw it into the well. But the boy requested not to throw the gold coin before his father threw. The boy said, "I got that gold coin after working really hard. Don't throw it, please." Then, the father said to his son, "Now, you know the value of hard work. You became a good boy." His father didn't throw the coin. Since that day, the boy became a hardworking boy. He finally knew how to work to earn a living. His father taught him that he should not be lazy and needed to work hard no matter how rich he was. This is the end of the story.
