Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The title of the story is 'three servants'. One day, a field owner hired three daily wage workers to work on his field. He ordered the workers to grow rice plants on his farm. He let them go there by horse. Since they were just workers, they couldn't think themselves as the owner. So, they grew the plants carelessly. It was sunny on that day. Then, one of the workers said, "Let's take a rest for a while." They were resting under the tree while they were talking. Soon, they fell asleep. At that time, the owner came to his farm to check whether the workers were working or not. He witnessed they were sleeping soundly and were even snoring! He was furious. But he didn't say anything. He picked all those rice plants and went back home without waking them. In the evening, the three workers woke up. They were shocked because there were no rice plants. They said, "What should we do now? What shall we tell the owner!?" Then, one of the workers said, "Let's stay here till night. And we will tell the owner that the rice plants are eaten by a horse." Meanwhile, the farm owner was waiting for them at home. He thought, "How will they lie to me? Will they tell me the truth?" When the workers reached the owner's house, the owner asked them, "How was it? Have you finished growing all those rice plants?" They answered, "My lord, we are very sorry. While we were taking a rest in the afternoon, the horse ate all the rice plants." The owner was angry because they didn't tell the truth and lied to him. So, he fired all of them.
