Description:Blaksum Tayang, 98 years old, is a resident of Tafragam village, Lohit District; A.P. He narrates about the origin of Tayang clan. Originally, the Tayang clan began with Pasha Tayang, an Idu. Pasha was notorious person with extra ordinary power. He could not be killed. People tried to kill him 8 times but he would come alive again and again. He was so powerful that he would make rain throughout year, even though the village people could not tend to their fields. How would die only if he was cut into pieces and fried with sand. The village people learned this after asking Pasha's wife. The Tayang clan came from the Idu as we know through stories and rituals. Its origin of Tayang starts with from the river called thum-taloh. By the extra power, pasha created a river called Denning and Talu (Brahmaputra). He had a demon like power. Pasha was killed by cutting him into pieces and frying him with sand. Pasha married Liu-mai from the Marap clan (Mishmi). Tayang clan first settled at Saga-mla somewhere under Hayuliang circle. Pasha had two sons: Tisai & Atsha. From Tisai & Atsha clan, another 9 children were borne. Tisai married one Tawsik lady. From his Tawsik wife, Tayang clan borne Khawsha, Makreso, Dangsha. Atsha's mother is Manyu, from Atsha clan are limsha, muta, tashaso, tahwaso, gasha. From Tisai clan, they are at Khupa, Wakro, Tafragam, Lamalang. From Khawsha clan they are at tangam, Tidding, Tafragam & Duraliang. They moved down and settled at tshai-gadam (Tayangko). . Language as given:
