Description:Digitisation of Side A of the Bahai service cassette tape, recorded by Geoffrey Benjamin in February 1979. The tape is a recording of a Bahai service recorded upstream of Pedpɔɔd (where Benjamin stayed 3 nights) at a fairly remote place. The service includes speech and Western style hymns. This recording was made 3 years after some Temiars had come and spread Bahai here after having gone to pick up the religion in other places. Jamal (the speaker heard in the recording) has since left the Bahai religion, and doesn’t presently follow any religion. Benjamin's notes on Bahai among the Temiar start on p.140 of Notebook 11. Notes made by Benjamin upon listening to the tape can be found on p.171 of Notebook 11.
