Description: A medium-size, wild bamboo whose internodes are about 100 cm long. It may grow anywhere. The young shoots come in July, taste better than other bamboo shoots and are good for making many kinds of food. When it is 7–10 months old and starts to grow leaves, people cut it to make strips for tying things. When it is about two years old, people cut it to weave baskets, and when it is over three years old people cut it to use as house purlins (trmàr) and for making traps. The roots are good for making tobacco pipes (kɔ́ɔŋ).
