Description: A medium-sized bamboo with about 120 cm long inter¬nodes, and walls which are only about 2 mm thick. There are both cultivated and wild varieties. The shoots are not eaten, because they have a bitter taste. People use it to build walls and roofs of houses and barns, and to make barn floors. It is good for making rice-steamers (hnʔòh). This bamboo is poisonous, and hunters use it to make spears for spear-traps, which easily kill the ani¬mals.
