Description: A plant whose leaves are 15–20 cm wide and 25–30 cm long. The leaves are edible, but people are not allowed to bring them into the village, since they are used at funerals for wrapping up cooked rice that is sacrificed to the recently dead ancestor (>máan). When people go fishing, they pick some of these leaves, roast them on the fire and eat with fish sauce and rice. They may be eaten in the forest or by the river, but not in the village.
