Khmu Name: rhál
Description: A 30–40 m tall, straight tree which grows on the high mountains. The white bark looks like tmpə̀ər (Prunus cerasoides) bark, but is thicker. It falls off every year. When people cut the bark there is a bad smell. People use the wood for all kinds of building purposes. The place where this tree grows is not so good for growing rice, and many cycad ferns (twá kntúar púas) grow under these trees, making the soil hard.
