Khmu Name: mɨ̀aŋ-wáay
Description: A herbaceous plant which grows in forests, fields, young fallows and open places. It is also called ñáa kháaw ‘white grass’ or lŋwàay. The flowers are white, and after the flowering they spread widely so that this plant will grow all over the area. It grows in the same places as the sasagrass (pryàak), in clay soil near streams and rivers; such places are called prì tɛ̀ɛp, pté dín dáak, pryàak lyhɨ́ay ‘suitable place with clay soil and sasagrass on the slopes’. This soil is good for growing rice, vegetables and other plants, and the roots of this plant make the soil soft and loose. The leaves can stop blood. If people get a small wound from a knife, or an animal bite, they chew the leaves and put on the wound to stop the blood.
Note: "Id" refers to the original ID of the dried plant specimen
