Khmu Name: smcɔ́ɔr
Description: A plant which grows in the fields or wastes. The stems are 10–20 cm long. It is a difficult weed which is hated by the swidden farmers. If it is cut to pieces and left on the ground or even hung up on a tree stump, it never dries and dies, but grows up again. When the women are weeding the fields they always carry a small basket (pɛ̀ɛm) and when they find edible plants or insects, they collect them and keep in the basket. Sometimes they collect dayflowers and when they come home, they put them in banana leaves with chilli and salt, roast (kúup) it and eat with rice.
