Description: An edible fern which grows along rivers and in other places where the soil is moist. During the hot season people go to collect the young shoots and prepare food from them. Sometimes people steam them and make salad (sɔ́ɔt): Steam the ferns 10–15 minutes together with white banana leaves cut from inside the banana plant. Mix with salt and pounded roasted chillies. Some¬times people cook it with fish, or eat it fresh with chilli sauce and rice.
