La cadette s'occupe tendrement de sa mère, alors que l'aîné la rejette. Une autre des reines accouche de deux fils dans le palais du roi. Par la suite, les deux princes rencontrent les princesses et les épousent. La première reine s'inquiète de la disparition de ses filles et les recherche dans la forêt. De même, la cadette s'inquiète pour sa mère et demande au roi de faire des recherches dans la forêt. Mais c'est la fille aînée qui trouve la mère la première et celle-là la renie en la traitant de vieille folle et en la frappant. L'ogre messager de Yama voit la scène et note le comportement irrespectueux de l'aînée sur un manuscrit en cuir de chien. La mère, après avoir été maltraitée par son aînée, s'enfuit et arrive au palais où une servante la reconnaît. La reine retrouve enfin sa fille cadette qui prend soin d'elle. One day, the queen loses her mind and runs away into the forest where she gives birth to two daughters with the help of nats. She names them Ma Gyi and Ma Ngè. The younger daughter kindly takes care of her mother, while the eldest doesn't. Another queen gives birth to two sons in the royal palace. The two princes eventually meet the two princesses and marry them. The first queen gets worried because she thinks her daughters have disappeared, and she goes after them. Meanwhile, the youngest daughter worries for her mum and looks for her in the forest. The elder daughter finally finds the queen, but rejects her and ill-treats her. The ogre messenger of Yama sees the scene, and records her disrespectful behaviour on a dog-leather manuscript. The mum, after having been ill-treated by her older daughter, runs away and reaches the palace, where she is recognized as the missing queen by a palace maid. She finally finds her younger daughter who takes good care of her.
