Description:Side A: tape 1: Bruce Starlight, Jeff Leer and Jim Kari (side B) discuss irregular conjugations; tones; enclitics; vocabulary 31:19. Linguistic consultation session involving Bruce Starlight, Gary Donovan, and Jeff Leer in Fairbanks, AK, in the summer of 1996. Starting at 13m21, this recording duplicates the beginning of ANLC0747A (i.e., two separate, partially overlapping recordings of the same session, with this recording starting well after the beginning of ANLC0747A). At 0m15, Gary Donovan indicates that his recording missed part of the preceding discussion, which suggests that this recording is his, and that ANLC0747A was made by Jeff Leer on a separate tape recorder. Begins with discussion of irregular paradigm associated with "made it" (start2m00). Leads into discussion of post-verbal enclitics/suffixes -ì, -ìlà, -áà, -ìlaa, -í, -laa/-laà, -gù, and -ìsìi (3m0021m00). At 21m15, comparison of -la vs. nominalizer -à vs. -laà (21m1525m45), with Bruce Starlight providing a description of the mirative meaning of -la (24m4525m45). Brief discussion of -ʔíì "the one who was called" (27m3028m15), followed by question formation with -ìlà and -ìlaa with nominalized and non-nominalized verbs (29m30end). Side B: Continued. 11:38. Linguistic consultation session involving Bruce Starlight, Gary Donovan, Jeff Leer, and Jim Kari in Fairbanks, AK, in the summer of 1996. Begins with discussion of terms for "bees", "testicles", and "penis" (start1m45). At 2m25, the volume of the recording drops, making the remainder of the recording essentially inaudible. From what can be heard in this section, however, from 2m25end, it appears that the remainder of this recording duplicates ANLC0747B (e.g., at 10m42, Bruce Starlight mentions dual meanings to ʔáyisʔìn ("I owned it (holy object)" and "I did it, used to do it"), which corresponds to 21m46 in ANLC0747B), although the discussion before 2m25 in this recording is not present in ANLC0747B. Comments: Likely part of a workshop. Tsuutina formerly known as Sarcee. Description provided by Chris Cox, 11/19/2015.
