Description:		Book. Ms. John and Mark in one hand, Luke in another, the latter the same hand as the incomplete ms. copy of Veniaminov's 1840 Matthew. The three numbered consecutively, 1-352. Also in collection, bound volume of the three gospels, prepared at ANLC 1973, 15 copies distributed to the households of Atka. Text is bilingual, Russian to left, Aleut to right. Gospel of Mark edited and published in its entirety by Bergsland 1959:87-104. ca. Reverend Lavrenty Salamatov was born about 1818, attended Atka School, was appointed as song leader for the Atka Church in 1834, was ordained as a priest in 1843 and died between 1862 and 1865. This work was finished sometime before 1861. Comments: Duplicate original in storage. The original manuscript is in Box 495, Old Series, of the Alaska Church Collection, Manuscript Division, Library of Congress, Washington D.C. this copy was produced for the people of Atka by ANLC in 1973.
