My Opinion, an open editorial in this issue of Bantaare (“Development”), offers advice for farmers: what farmers should do to increase productivity; advice for herders: lack of sedentarism is not beneficial to herders, they must therefore rid themselves of the “I am moving soon” mentality, and make homes in areas in which they can also farm; to the nation (“the house of the father”): a plea for unity, arguments for the reason why the people of Burkina should fight against divisions; and to the man who does not know what he needs: a tale recounting the story of a very pious man who ends up loosing the three gifts God gave him because of his excessive trust in his wife. Other selections include: Banndi Burkina: a list of proverbs extracted from a book published by an organization for the advancement of Fulfulde in Burkina Faso -- En Kolla Koreeji Saabuuji di andanaa: A tale about a man who claimed he never gets jealous, is never afraid, and never eats alone. At the same time there was a man who vowed that he will give his daughter away only to a man who is afraid of nothing, is never jealous, and never eats alone. When the two found each other, the girl’s father demanded that she verifies that her husband indeed never gets jealous, is never afraid, and never eats alone. When these facts were verified, the father-in-law wanted to know why. The young man reveals valuable lessons of Fulfulde culture in recounting how he came to those decisions -- The world: The civil war in Ivory Coast. Mon Opinion, une discussion dans ce numéro de Bantaare (“Developpement”), offre des conseils aux agriculteurs: Ce qu’il faut faire pour augmenter la productivité. Conseils aux éleveurs: Le manque de sédentarisme a un effet néfaste sur le développement de l’élevage. Les éleveurs doivent se défaire de la mentalité de transhumance, se sédentariser pour pouvoir entreprendre d’autrres activités comme l’agriculture. La nation (“la maison du père”): Un appel à l’unité, l’auteur explique pourquoi le peuple burkinabé doit à tout prix dire non à la division. Un homme qui ne sait pas ce qu’il veut: Un conte qui relate l’histoire d’un homme très pieux qui, du fait de la confiance excessive qu’il vouait à sa femme, finit par perdre les trois bienfaits qu’Allah lui avait accordé. En même temps vivait un homme qui avait une très belle fille qu’il s’était promis de ne donner en mariage qu’à un homme qui n’etait jamais jaloux, n’avait jamais peur, et ne mangeait jamais tout seul. Le mariage fût célébré, et le père demandât à la fille de vérifier que son mari est bien ce qu’il prétend être. Quand ils en furent assures le beau-père demandât à son gendre les raisons pour lesquelles il n’était jamais jaloux, n’avait jamais peur, et ne mangeait jamais tout seul. Sa réponse entraîne le lecteur dans un récit qui en révèle des choses sur le monde peulhe -- Le monde: La guerre civile en CÔte d’Ivoire.
