| Description: | Audio recordings provided by the Language Memory Project. 23 Skolt Sámi speakers, representing different places and age groups, are recorded in an environment of their own choice, inside or outside. Each of them pronounces several words starting with a different initial letter. The words are read from a computer screen and recorded on audio and video simultaneously. Note that these recordings were not done primarily for the aim linguistic analyses, but for an art in public spaces - installation. Their quality varies. | |
| Language Memory is an art in public spaces - installation built in the foajé of the Skolt Sámi Museum in Neiden, north-east Norway. Basically the artwork presents local Skolt Sámi representatives reading words from their native language. The work was created by artist and musician Espen Sommer Eide. The recorded words and their translations into English, Finnish, Norwegian and Russian were also sorted in a database to be used for future teaching materials. The present corpus node collectes the original audio files.
