| Goal of this project is to get a clear view of the command of Sarnami and/or Sranan of primary school children of Suriname origin and to study their command of Dutch. | ||
| The task is to retell a story about a boy and his football. Together the boy and his ball go to a football competition in the park. Unfortunately the boy and his team do not win. After the match he stops to order a fries. He puts his ball in the truck of a car. The car rides off. Fortunately, it stops for a pedestrian crossing where the boy takes his ball back and goes home. | ||
| Dorian de Haan is the coordinator/collector of this project. She is of Dutch origin. She works at the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, at the Developmental Psychology department. | ||
| Desmond is of Suriname Creole origin, he was born in Suriname. In Suriname he lived in Paramaribo, in the Wageningen district. He has been in the Netherlands for 6 years. He went to the first form of primary school when he came here; currently he is in the last form. Most of the time he speaks Dutch, but he can speak Sranan. With his parents he speaks Dutch, but with his grandmother Sranan. He finds it very important to learn English (more important then Sranan), because it is the lingua franca of the world. His mother is a nurse. He has an older sister who is in the second form of secondary school. He has two younger siblings. Same boy as in 34A, 43B, 44K, 46A, 46B & 46M. | ||
