| Description: | ENGLISH: Names of fish in Trumai, which were elicited with the help of illustrations from the book "Peces del Rio Mamore" (1985), by Laurent Lauzanne and Gérard Loubens. The names were investigated with a Trumai woman, and were later recorded with the help of her daughter. Given that we still cannot identify the Portuguese name of several types of fish, we preferred to identify them in the recording using numbers (Fish No.1, Fish No. 2, and so on). | The purpose of the project is to document Trumai, a genetically isolate language spoken in Brazil. The archive consists of a collection of texts in the language, plus other kinds of materials relative to the Trumai culture, such as photos, drawings, songs, educational materials, etc. | ||
