Vaabero is a member of the NaaVanivu clan. he is the younger brother of Purupuru. From 1950 to 1960, Vaabero was a Methodist Church pastor. In the early 70s, he was a methodist Church Youth leader. In the late 1970s and in the 1980s, he was an employee of Bougainville Copper Limited (BCL). In the 1990s, he was a United Church Lay preacher.
Mark Mahaka is the Paramount Chief of the NaoTahii clan. He is a medical assistant, a teacher, and a pastor of the Methodist Church.
Ruth Saovana-Spriggs is currently a PhD Scholar at the Political Science and International Relations and a part-time Research Fellow at the Linguistics Department at the Australian national University, Whe speaks Teop as her first language and is an applied linguist with a specialisation in literacy. From 1980 to 1988, i.e. before the civil war, she was the provincial language and literacy coordinator of Bougainville (North Solomons Province). In the Teop Project, she does all preliminary transcriptions and translations and works together with Jessika Reinig and Marcia Schwartz on the edition of the recordings. In addition, she compiles word lists and particular semantic fields in the speech community and discusses the meanings of words with local language experts.
