| Description: | Father-step-Daughter Incest case. Held down at the beach at Jinjo, with Kostka, Pweeghia as magistrates. Bernard Kuundi, son of John Daach:aa, B of Wombodo, was in the dock. His M is a sister of Nkal and Lemonga. Bernard married Damian Daach:aa’s Bs D, Tóóniya, now in Alotau. He slept with his step-D Hilda, illegitimate (unknown F), aged 15, a schoolgirl. He forced her 6 times. She is now 3 months pregnant. The school detected the pregnancy, the clinic confirmed it, and on questioning the girl revealed what they had guessed, on the basis of her being beaten at home. He confessed, and they will send him straight off to Misima. Bernard is a neer-do-well. The D Hilda, was supported by Sato from E Point, married to the M’s Z. He talked about wanting to be repaid school fees, etc. Y and Mgalim said that Bernard’s F had children at Misima, later became Councillor at Jinjo, and had a Rossel common law wife – but he was never settled, and went back to Misima and deserted his children. Y said: we won’t have Bernard in Cheme despite his rights there: the other brothers OK, but this man will never build a house there (he has the rights to settle right next to Yidika and brothers) Luke Nêpa is coz to girl’s mother (same clan), and was angry on behalf of the mother. Lêmonga, in MB role, said I was thinking that we would help pay Bernard’s brideprice, and in return get the brideprice for Hilda. Even Titus Philemon weighed in, saying our human resources can’t be ruined like this (5th underage pregnancy among the school girls this year). Good source for looking at questions. The accused stayed mum through most of it – he had clearly been beaten before arriving. Filmed badly, with backlight button on, and from low vantage point. Good sound track I think. | |
