| Description: | This bundle consists of data from four sessions of elicitations with Julio López Pérez. The dates were May 05, 2018 and August 14-16, 2018. All sessions were audio-video recorded. The goal is to obtain lexicon based on the contrast between short and long vowel, and see if Tuzantan has tonogenesis as it is suggested for Motozintlec. Jaime Pérez González starts with a minimal pair, and it goes on until a list of approximately four hundred items contrasting between short and long vowel, also a glottal between vowels. Since Motozintlec has lost most of the glottals between vowels, the Tuzantec dialect is crucial to understand what the resource was for the tonogenesis in Motozintlec. It also serves to see what the phonemes and allophones are in Tuzantec. This is a great elicitation list to be compared with Motozintlec in order to better understand both dialects. | |
