Description:Gakebarate recites a traditional folktale about seven sisters who were tricked into marrying lions.
This folktale is recorded on video and is provided with a tentative translation in English. Some photos are also provided. Transcription into the subject language to follow.
Lee is the linguist on the project and has worked with different San communities in Namibia and Botswana since 2011.
Gakebarate (born 1979) lives with her husband and children at Khwee, a remote settlement 60km from Lethlakane by sand track into the sandveld.
