| Description: | This is a short video with Emily Villaflor and her husband Antonio. We are by the beach in Barangay Dianed, and Antonio is holding a traditional fishing rod, called ‘peltag’. This is the tool they used to catch octopi and other kinds of fishes, which they later sell or trade for rice. Emily explains that her husband swims with the goggles and looks at the stones until he detects some movement. At that point he swims down to where the stones are and tries to shoot at the animal with the propelled rod. Emily holds the rubber of the spear and places it in shooting position, so we can see how the device works. Once the hunter shoots, the rubber is released and the iron rod is propelled in order to reach the animal. The rod is tied to the spear with a string so that once they have touched the target they just need to pull the string towards them and grab the animal. Finally Emily introduces her husband Antonio which is not Alta, but Agta Umiray, another Negrito tribe located in Aurora province.
