This booklet (number 1 of 3) offers different stories and folktales. The themes of 'The hyena will not leave its habit' makes interesting reading. Book 1 includes the encounters of the greedy hyena and the wise, tricky rabbit: how rabbit fools hyena; the irony between might and wisdom (lion and rat); and the foolish woman who falls victim to the unscrupulous man. All of the stories have moral values intertwined with proverbs and similes. Learners can use theproverbs for further discussion.
